If You Remember Nothing Else from 2011, Remember This
If last year's actions by representatives of Osceola's District 3 seems like a joke that has to do with screwing in lightbulbs, it may. With a total of three reps, claiming no lotto for building a public health clinic, Poinciana ended 2011 without a dream for a solid structure.
Not even one fought to say, "yes," to the federal government's offer to grant the area over $8,000,000 to build such a facility. These reps included Mike Horner, Steve Precourt, and Brandon Arrington.
Horner was covered by Mike Freeman of Freeline Media in December 2011. It was about how he was against ObamaCare, even if it meant impacting an adjacent district, that is, the one served by Steve Precourt of District 41. Clearly, the clinic was to be located in Precourt's district but Horner took it upon himself to explain why he didn't want it either. Horner blamed it on "ObamaCare."
While they can be forgiven for being Republicans, there was no excuse for Osceola commissioner Brandon Arrington, who remained primarily quiet on the issue, to let such an opporutunity for a local safety net to fall through in Osceola.
